things most remarkable No. 13 ( for an actual extra mark ) what is the thing depicted below ? No rambling guesses, only a succinct answer will do !

that would be a plus four wristlet route indicator to be worn on a person's wrist. it is basically a vintage GPS unit designed to carry a map around with you right on your very own wrist while you travel about England. the knobs are to be turned depending on the directions you take.

I was about to say before i read Zarine's guess:

Every Bus, train, metro's (if it did exist at the time this was made, because it looks a bit old) path in london in little maps that you wear as a watch and you can stay in track with the transportation you use.

but i guess Zarine's explenation is more acurate.
