Some classic Blue Note Jazz album covers fron the 50's and 60's.
if you are shocked by the similarity of these designs to contemporary, even new 'hipster' design, you shouldn't be. In the 1920's the most avant-garde of artistic troublemakers - Marcel Duchamp said... " there are no new ideas, just new arrangements of old ones "

i the like typefaces used, and even the pattern on gil melle's album but I don't understand how a style/mood like this (which to me seems appealing to everyone's taste) go out of style?
good design will never go out of style, and never feel dated.
atleast that's what i feel anyways. alexey brodovitch's page layouts for example, seem as modern as chip kidds covers.
