Alfons Mucha was a very influential designer
in his time, but is rarely noted in the chronicles
of art history. He, likely more than anyone else,
is responsible for the "art nouveau" style that
developed around the turn of the 2o th. century
in western Europe. Mucha applied his considerable
talents, to a wide array of design pursuits which
included: painting, sculpture, poster and magazine
design as well as product and architectural design.
